Chewie is Jack's dog. Scruffy, lovable, and a complete disaster in the best possible way. He cannot make money. He cannot do math. He cannot stay out of the sock drawer. But he is world-class at moral support — and that counts for a lot when you've just lost 75 cents on your first business venture.

What nobody expected was that Chewie would turn out to be Jack's most valuable business asset. Half the customers at the second lemonade stand came over just to pet him. They stayed for the lemonade. Chewie, wearing a tiny paper hat, drew a crowd that no sign or discount could have created.

He is, technically, an unpaid employee. Jack has noted this. The contract negotiations are ongoing.
